“The Life of Zhiniang Chen” was published in traditional Chinese characters by Taiwan Campus Bookstore in the 1990s, and then published in simplified Chinese characters by Malaysian Renren Bookstore. Later, in order to facilitate the reading of overseas Chinese children, the Singapore Explorer Evangelical Organization published the English version of the book.

Since its publication, “The Life of Zhiniang Chen” has been well recognized by Chinese at home and abroad, and the book has been ordered by Chinese associations and families all over the world. Today, in order to meet the needs of the huge number of readers in China, it has been decided to publish it in China as an agent of Nixi Bookstore, which I am familiar with. This is also the original intention of the author; it is a great consolation to the author that it can be realized today. I deeply hope that the book can exert its greatest effect and function, and bring inspiration and encouragement to readers who love this book.

The author of this book is Chen Zhiniang’s foreign daughter-in-law. The writing process is that the author interviewed his Chinese mother-in-law Chen Zhiniang many times, and kept the interview records in the form of audio recordings, then compiled them into a book in English, and then translated them into Chinese for publication. Therefore, the writing process is written from a western objective standpoint. The records of the content are very detailed and reliable, and its precious value is beneficial to readers in both the East and the West, especially for the spread and achievements of beliefs.

Although the story of Chen Zhiniang’s life has become a distant history, the records and spread of its facts have not faded with the passage of time, but are even more precious. Because this is a historical record of human beings in the eternal world, her descendants must continue to witness her deeds, and the essence of her faith must continue to flourish. As the scriptures say: The Holy One has established the work of his hands. The results of his work will also follow him. Those who have eternal life, though gone, are exceedingly precious in the eyes of the Holy One.

May all parents in the world follow the teachings of the old scriptures and receive the blessings spoken of in the psalm: “Blessed is everyone who fears the Holy One and walks in his ways… may you see the children of your children. “What a promise! May peace be with all the descendants of those who keep a godly life on earth!
